Micah Tryba, DVM originally planned to become a music teacher, but just as she was starting to pursue her music degree, her beloved Golden Retriever, Lucy, passed away suddenly from an aggressive form of cancer. The experience of caring for Lucy through her final weeks inspired Dr. Tryba to become a veterinarian. She wanted to provide solutions and comfort to families and animals experiencing similar situations.
Dr. Tryba lives her life according to the mantra that kindness is powerful and goes a long way to making things better. Her goal is to ensure through every client interaction, they feel heard and understood. She is passionate about her work and excited about working with the West Loop Veterinary Care team to provide the highest level of care to pets and the people who love them.
Dr. Tryba earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Tryba’s prior experience includes completing an externship and working as a veterinary assistant in the Chicago area. Dr. Tryba is an active foster pet parent. Although she does not currently have a pet, she has fostered many dogs through her local shelter.
Why you chose WLVC and why you chose to do what you do?
When I thin about why I do what I do, it would have to be the love for my patients, my investment in my patient's bond with their human, and being an advocate for animals that are not able to advocate for themselves. WLVC gives me an incredibly supportive, collaborative, and fun environment to do just that.
2021
Dr. Tryba has enjoyed singing and acting since she was a child. Just before beginning veterinary school, she earned a spot on season 12 of NBC’s The Voice
