Laser Therapy

Easing Your Pet's Discomfort with Laser Therapy in Chicago

Pain medications and supplements are not always enough to soothe your pet’s aches and pains. That’s why we offer laser therapy–an effective tool for helping your pet heal. Laser therapy is a safe, painless and non-invasive pain management modality that can reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, speed healing, and greatly improve your pet’s quality of life.

Our Cutting Edge therapy laser emits light particles through a handheld device to stimulate and accelerate healing at the cellular level. These light particles safely penetrate the outer tissues and muscle to interact with the cells and produce various beneficial, biological effects.

Benefits of Pet Laser Therapy

Our knowledgeable veterinarians are highly trained to administer laser therapy treatments to pets of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Following a consultation in which your veterinarian evaluates your pet’s current condition along with their weight, coat color, and coat length, we’ll help you schedule their laser therapy sessions. In some cases, pets may require a certain number of sessions for results to become apparent; this number varies depending on the patient’s condition and their response to treatment.

Pet laser therapy can be used to soothe and/or treat many different conditions, including:

  • Hip dysplasia
  • Lick granulomas
  • Allergies
  • Degenerative joint disease
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Acute and chronic otitis
  • Inflammation
  • Wounds/incisions
  • Hot spots
  • Fractures
  • Gingivitis and periodontal disease
  • …and more

What to Expect

All pets and owners are given protective goggles to wear while the therapy laser is in use. The laser is programmed to produce light waves at a certain frequency based on your pet’s species, size, coat color, and coat length. Using a timer, the veterinarian or technician will gently massage the handheld laser device over the affected areas on your pet until the session is complete. The laser light produces a warming effect on contact, so your pet should feel very comfortable and relaxed during their session.

The number of sessions your pet will need to experience the full benefit of laser therapy depends on how well their condition responds to the treatment.
