FUN STAFF FACTS
Oliver is not only Dr. Winson’s companion but also a seasoned traveler. Together, they’ve shared countless memories exploring new places, and she looks forward to many more adventures with him by her side.

From a young age, Dr. Winson found comfort and connection in caring for animals. One of her most memorable experiences was welcoming a stray dog from the British Virgin Islands into her family, where she remained a beloved companion for 14 years. Growing up around dogs and spending years as an equestrian helped her develop a deep appreciation for both large and small animals.
Her path toward veterinary medicine was shaped by her love for science and the meaningful relationships formed between pets and their people. During elementary school, Dr. Winson’s family faced the heartbreaking loss of their Bernese Mountain Dog to an aggressive lung tumor. The compassion shown by the veterinary team left a lasting impression and ultimately inspired her to pursue a career where she could offer the same kindness to others. Years later, while attending veterinary school, she had the unique opportunity to work at the very hospital that cared for her dog, coming full circle in her journey.
Dr. Winson earned both her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. Her approach to patient care is rooted in teamwork and advocacy. She is dedicated to providing thoughtful, comprehensive care and ensuring every client feels heard and supported. She finds it especially meaningful to help owners care for their senior pets, offering guidance through every stage of life.
Her philosophy of leading with empathy is at the core of how she connects with others. She believes in meeting each patient and their person where they are, understanding that everyone carries their own story.
Outside of work, Dr. Winson enjoys exploring new places and discovering local restaurants. Some of her favorite travel memories include visiting Portugal, Mexico City, and spending a month in Ghana. She dreams of visiting Southeast Asia one day. At home, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Oliver, keeps her company and is always up for an adventure. Together, they’ve shared travels across Colorado, Florida, and Boston. Now calling Chicago home, she looks forward to exploring the city and all the beauty the Great Lakes have to offer.
